EVERTON SACKS KOEMAN

Everton have parted company with manager Ronald Koeman following a poor start to the season, the club confirmed in a statement.

After Everton 5-2 defeat at the clash against Arsenal, the club sits in the bottom three of the table with just eight points from nine games.

They are also likely to fall out of the Europa League at the group stage after picking one point in three games.

The club posted a statement confirming the departure via their Twitter account on Monday afternoon which read: "Everton Football Club can confirm that Ronald Koeman has left the Club.
"Chairman Bill Kenwright, the Board of Directors and Major Shareholder Farhad Moshiri would all like to express their gratitude to Ronald for the service he has given to the Club over the past 16 months and for guiding the Club to seventh place in last season's Premier League campaign."

Speaking after the defeat to Arsenal, a fifth in nine Premier League games this season, Koeman said he was still the man to turn Everton's fortunes around. He said the team is underperforming and that he sort to change, he told the news conference.
"I told the players that I believe in the players, I believe in the commitment of the players.
"I still believe I can change the whole situation, but everybody knows how it works in football. That is all I answer about this situation.
"If you start to think negative then maybe there is no solution. I am not like that. All the rumours in the newspapers is normal.
"The final result is really poor, but all these kind of decisions (about the future) are not in my hands.''
Everton spent big over the summer bringing in Jordan Pickford, Michael Keane, Davy Klaassen and Gylfi Sigurdsson, but they lost top scorer Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United.
Lukaku has scored seven goals in his first nine Premier League appearances for United, the same number as the whole of the Everton squad.

He becomes the third top-flight boss this season to lose their job, following Frank De Boer at Palace and Craig Shakespeare at Leicester

NSASA OAU SPEAKER SENDS MESSAGE TO NSASAITES AS THEY RESUME

Much adoration should be given to God almighty for keeping us safe once again to start another semester.

At this juncture it becomes imperative to say a warm welcome to all NSASA, OAU members, you have been a source of inspiration and motivation.

To the class of intellectuals, it is expedient that you don't forget that at this level grades are the most important.

Class of achievers, keep strong and remain one big family.

To the class of Bravuras, I salute your vibrancy. Keep up the good stuff, you guys are great.

And to the class of Elite, in contrast to what was said to the class of intellectuals, grades have ceased to be the most important (although still important), it is important to focus on building a strong character and most importantly, finishing strong.

To cap it all, the race of life isn't a competition, it is not for the most brilliant person, or for the strongest person, or for the fastest person, but for the smartest and the most dynamic person. Keep that in mind and you'll be a much better version of yourself.

Happy Resumption!!

RT. Hon. EZENWA, Obinna Stephen.

NSASA LORD CHANCELLOR SENDS MESSAGE TO NSASAITES AS THEY RESUME

I want to use this medium to welcome Reformers back to the rain semester. I hope all had a wonderful semester break, and enjoyed the time they had to share with their loved ones; friends and family. I hope that you are looking forward to a
great semester and you have come back with renewed energy.

In this new semester, it is very essential that we come with the view to be innovative daubed with great ideas to help us grow as a department and also enhance our academic experience

There is always the chance to encounter different experiences during our interactions with colleagues. Let's all come together to support those in power so that we can move the association forward.

I look forward to a great semester, which will include among other activities, the departmental election and also the student union election. I want to use this medium to plead with our aspirants that the growth and development of the association should be their main reason for contesting and not just for the sake of occupying a position in the department.

Also to the voters, let us vote with the interest of the association in our mind.

I am pleased to welcome you to the new semester and I pray that this semester will be great and productive for you.

Happy Resumption!!
Enjoy the semester while it last

NSASA OAU VP SENDS MESSAGE TO NSASAITES AS THEY RESUME

Infallibility is the sole attribute of God, as man's fallibility continues to soar to the high heavens. No matter how hard mortals try to reaching the status of perfection, a much more than sufficiently enough vistas of doors of imperfection await one. Hence, our strivings, successes and triumphs are attained through God's grace.

I am most delighted in welcoming my colleagues; Junior and Senior to another Semester. First and Foremost, I give thanks and honour to Almighty God for his innumerable blessings and protections over us all as well as the accomplishment of the previous semester and starting another semester. It is another phase of this session which is full of ups and downs as well as various activities starting from Academic Activities, Fun/Social Activities, Religious Activities, and Political Activities. I would like to say a little on these activities.

Academic Activities
As the Vice President, most of my constitutional duties lies in the academic aspect. I have always stated that we all are in Obafemi Awolowo University for the sole purpose of academics. This has brought us all together. Therefore, let us not derail from this purpose. Do not let any activity make you deviate from your purpose of being on this campus. However, this does not mean you should not engage yourself in other activities such as learning a new Skill, Professional Programs, Fun and others. Just be wise about it. Also, we should note that there are various types of lecturers with their own styles. Please let's try as much as possible to apply to all the rules and regulations given in class. It is advisable that you know your lecturers. Some loves writing of notes in Exams while some don't. Am sure by now, some of us already know the type of Lecturers we have. For others, such as Junior colleagues who do not know, please meet with senior colleagues to understand the lecturers in the department. It is my prayer that we all will be favoured this semester.

Social Activities
There would be lots of social activities this semester. These activities would be organised by the department, the school as well as other personal or general gatherings. Please, do not hesitate to have the fun you can.

The but in this is to know what you are doing. Please, let us all turn up for all activities that the department would be organising.. This is one way we all can contribute to the strengthening of the unity and cooperation in the department.

Religious Activities
Whoever it is that we believe has been the source of our success so far, let's strive to continue worshiping who, where, and how we want to. But, set your priorities right. Don't let us be among those who claim to worship God, yet, our hearts are far from him. It is my prayer that whoever we believe in sees us through to the end. The departmental fellowship would be glad to see our faces every Friday.

Political Activities
Every Second Semester is known for this activity. It is imperative we note that If we fail to challenge ourselves and this present state we are in the department, the generation to come would have to live in a chaotic department. If we lax down and fail to act on our dreams, we would continue in a reverie, just to wake up to find the department in a messed up condition than it was before we closed our eyes. Humans by nature are driven primarily by desires and instincts. The satisfaction of the carnal self is a lure that is very difficult to fight; the quest for power, greed and every lustful yearning amidst our indifference to the effect of our actions and our obsession with ego. We have been gradually transformed into monsters that act only on the principle of greed and self interest. We must change our ways of living in order to pull through. Also, to create a path towards a better department, we must work hard and consider what unifies us to be stronger than the forces of our diversity in the four arms we have in the department which are the Executive, Parliamentary, Judicial, as well as other Students. Participation from authoritative and non-authoritative personnel will be greatly required. We have to build up ties, friendship and love among ourselves, before we can progress. It is not too late to make our motto in our hearts to be 'peace and unity'. We have to restore our ethics to prevent further moral decay that is working amidst us. It is high time we challenged ourselves; it is high time we stopped agonizing and start organizing for effective change. If you know that you are capable of vying for a post for the betterment of the department, please do, and if otherwise, please stay still. Let's assist the present executives in anyway we can do. It is pertinent to know that payment of annual due is important. Let us pay if we have,so as to assist the executives. Lastly on this, let us vote wisely.

The great change that we want can be seen in our ways of thinking, reasoning, doing things, and our interactions with others. With this, we are on the path to actualising our dreams for the department.

Lastly, May God help us all. Your cooperation would be highly appreciated. Class of Intellectuals, you have been awesome, please continue in that spirit of peace and unity.
Class of Achievers, you have been helpful in your ways, please continue in that spirit of improvement.
Class of Bravuras, you have been wonderful, please continue in that spirit of togetherness.
Class of Elites, you have been helpful with your advise and love to your junior colleague. Please continue in that spirit of love...

Ones again, I welcome us all to this Semester

God Bless Us All
